What to Expect When You Visit
It can be a little scary to walk into new church and not know what to expect, so we would like to calm any nervousness you may have. Here’s a little of what you can expect at Isle of Hope UMC on a Sunday morning.
If you have children (2 & under) you are welcome to make your way to one of our age-appropriate nurseries. As you approach the children’s area, a staff member will assist you in registering your child into a nursery. Pagers are provided to those who are unfamiliar with our nursery. Parents are asked to return the pager when they pick up their child. No child will be released to anyone other than the adult who checked them – this serves as a security mechanism that protects the children. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to make sure you have time to register your children. If you would like to worship with your child, please know that they are welcome in any of our services.
Sunday School classes are held at 10:00 AM. Our traditional services held in the Sanctuary begin at 8:45 and 11:15 AM. You can wear casual clothing or dress up in your favorite dress or suit and tie. Our non-traditional worship service, The Anchor, held in the Fellowship Hall, is very casual. Whether you worship in the Sanctuary or in the Fellowship Hall, you will find an exciting and compelling service full of truths in word, song, and prayer. Before, in between, or after the services you can meet and mingle with other Isle of Hope family members or have a cup of coffee in our Manna Cafe near the Fellowship Hall. While in a service, please fill out the Welcome Card in the pews or back of the chairs. You can note any specific information you would like on the back of the form and drop it in the offering plate/baskets during the service.
If at any time you have questions, please visit one of our Connection Point Boards in the main hallway outside the church office. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you into our Isle of Hope family!
