Children’s Church

As we sing, pray and hear God’s word proclaimed, we get in touch with the meaning of life. In Children’s Church we prepare our children to enter into corporate worship. They spend their first years participating in Children’s Church learning about worship and preparing to experience it! Children are always invited and encouraged to participate in communion. The communion table in the Methodist Church is God’s table and open and offered to all.

Children 3 years (by September 1) through 1st grade are invited to participate in the worship services until the Children’s Sermon. At this time, they are dismissed to attend Children’s Church staffed by volunteers. Nursery care is provided for children 2 and under for all worship services. The new Children’s Church year begins September 9, 2012.

Worship Preparation Class: Each spring our 1st graders are invited to attend a Worship Preparation Class which enables them to fully participate in worship life. The class provides instruction about church architecture, furnishings and the order of worship. Children learn the Lord’s Prayer, Apostles’ Creed and the Gloria Patri. Upon completion, the children are recognized as graduates of Children’s Church during a Worship Service. From then on, 2nd graders are expected to remain each week with their parents for the entire hour of worship.
