Sunday School
Each Sunday, hundreds of adults meet for study and Christian fellowship in one of the many adult classes held at 10:00AM. Read the descriptions of our classes below:
Agape Women’s Class: This group is made up of women 30 to 40 years of age. This is a vibrant growing group that meets in the Church parlor. They study a variety of curriculums through group discussion. Class leaders are Betsey Sampey and Janet Geriner.
Berean Bible Class: Appropriately called a Bible Class because of its devoted study to the Holy Scriptures. The name is derived from Luke’s account of the people of Berea in Acts 17:11, which states “… they received the message with great eagerness and examined scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” Taught with leadership that invites questions and contention. Class ages range from young adult to young at heart.
Friends in Faith Class: This adult Sunday school class focuses on Bible Study and round–table discussions. Designed with diversity in mind, all ages and stages are welcome.
Good News Class: A class of young adults, 20–40 years of age. The class uses Bible study with particular attention to the application of Christian beliefs to everyday life. Class members choose topics of discussion and actively participate in developing the course agenda. Regular gatherings are enjoyed outside the church and participation in various civic activities.
New Hope Class: This class is blessed with members of all ages, primarily from the mid–30’s to early 50’s. Anyone is welcome to join us – young couples and parents, couples with older children and single parents. Lessons include Bible study and the application of God’s Word to our lives.
New Horizons Class: This class welcomes all age groups, single or married, with or without children. Fresh, innovative ideas, diversified topics (Biblical & issue–oriented) and frank, honest discussions make this class unique. Great get-to-togethers are shared outside of class, whether planning meetings or socializing.
Pilgrim Class: This class consists of about 40 members including both singles and couples. All adults are welcome; most of our members are age 50+. A diverse program is offered, including Bible study, speakers from local charities. A variety of curriculum is used.
Seekers Class: The Seekers Class is a group of primarily “empty nesters” who explore living the Christian life in an un-Christian world. Contemporary issues using the Bible as our guide are discussed. Everyone has a lesson book and is encouraged to read and study ahead of class so that the class is a real learning experience. Come SEEK with us!
Stepping Stones Class: A class designed for young adults 20 to 30 something who are just out of college and are facing the working world. These times can be tough and this group is there for each other. This group uses a variety of curriculum from Bible study to current faith issues. Join this group as each seeks to find out who they are in Christ.
The 10:02 Class: This is for all men 30-55ish who have yet to find a place in a small group or for those who hated Sunday School as a kid. This “Un-Sunday School Class” meets at 10:02 AM in the Hanger at the Green House. Doug McManamy invites you to come as you are for a time of study and fellowship.
Wylly-Dupon Class: This class is named for Mr. George Wylly and Dr. Stephen Dupon, early trustees of our church. Consisting of men and women, couples and singles, most of the members are 55+ years of age, although friends of any age are invited and welcome. We enjoy several evening get–to-togethers every season just to enjoy each other’s company. Join us!
