Start your day off right by serving food to the hungry and enjoying a time of fellowship.
Every Saturday morning at 8:15-9:15AM volunteers provide breakfast in Franklin Square to people living in poverty. If you would like to volunteer or have questions please call Marjo Zelinsky at 912-355-8527.
Inner City Night Shelter
Inner City Night Shelter, located downtown Savannah, provides emergency shelter for homeless men and women. The shelter also provides a hot meal to men, women and children every night. Isle of Hope UMC sends volunteers to serve dinner on the second Sunday of each month from 4:30-6:00 PM. We also provide 20 gallons of soup and 150 sandwiches. Sign up in your Sunday school class or call Martha Nesbit at 912-355-5049 for more information.
Fresh Market Bread Ministry
Help provide donated bread and pastries to area mission ministries in the community.
Every Sunday between 11:00AM and 1:00PM volunteers pick up donated bread from Fresh Market. The volunteers sort the bread and deliver it to area mission ministries on Sunday or Monday. Contact Julie or Erin in the Church office to get involved!
Meals on Wheels
Pick up and deliver hot meals to homebound residence in need.
Each client enrolled in the Meals on Wheels program receives a hot, noontime meal that provides one third of the daily nutritional requirements, as well as personal contact to homebound persons. Isle of Hope UMC volunteers are responsible for delivering Meals on Wheels midday to homebound residents in the Isle of Hope area Mondays-Fridays. The meals are picked up at the church between 10:30AM – 11:15PM. The delivery route usually takes a maximum of one to one and a half hours to complete. If you are interested in serving, please call Lynn Kritter at 912-354-1260.
