Isle of Hope is a United Methodist congregation. We are Christians who share the common conviction that God has mercy and love for all people. We believe in a triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We have faith in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ. We profess the Christian faith as contained in the Old and New Testaments. Scripture, combined with tradition, reason, and experience, guide us to understand our faith. We celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion after the example of Jesus Christ. We welcome worshippers from evey Christian tradition and from all walks of life. Through our worship, we seek to give praise and give thanks to God in the name of Jesus Christ. We are a church that encourages persons to discover their gifts and use them to serve in ministry.

There’s a place for you at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church to

  • Love God and each other.
  • Grow in relationship with Christ.
  • Serve as the hands of Christ.
  • Share your time, talents and gifts.

Joining the Family

We invite and encourage you to consider joining the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church family. We receive new members every Sunday at any worship service. To unite with our congregation, simply decide which Sunday and let us know by calling the Senior or Associate Pastor, indicating your desire on the attendance registration pad, coming forth during the singing of the last hymn, or speaking with one of the pastors after worship. There are four ways to become a member:

  • Transfer of membership from another church
  • Reaffirmation of Faith when you have been inactive in a church for a period of time
  • Profession of Faith when you have been baptized but have yet to join the church
  • Profession of Faith and Baptism when you have never been baptized or united with a church

Getting Connected Classes

All new members and visitors are invited to the Getting Connected Class sessions. These sessions will include meeting our staff and some of our church leaders, sharing knowledge of the United Methodist Church and beliefs, and learning about the ministries, mission opportunities, and activities of the Isle of Hope congregation. There are three sessions during the Sunday School hour which meet in the Chancel Choir Room with one lunch in the Fellowship Hall on the second Sunday following the 11:15 AM Worship service.
