Living a Life on Loan John Ortberg: The Life You’ve Always Wanted
Living a Life on Loan explores living life on loan from God. Through biblical teaching and practical applications, individuals learn how to serve others intentionally in their daily lives. Imagine the potential when the church body moves outside its walls and impacts the worldwide community for Christ. As with a marathon runner, the secret lies not in trying harder, but in training consistently. Hence the spiritual disciplines. They&rsqup;re neither taskmasters nor an end in themselves. They&rsqup;re exercises that strengthen or endurance race down the road of growth. As we continue down that road, we&rsqup;ll see the signpost – joy, peace, kindness, and all hallmarks of a faith that&rsqup;s vital, real, and growing. John Ortberg calls us back to the dynamic hearthbeat of Christianity – God&rsqup;s power to bring change and growth – and show us how we can attain it and why we should attain it. The Bible study led by Kevin Vogelsang is geared to runners. Running together to strengthen our bodies as we study together to strengthen our spirit! For more information call Kevin (355.8527).

Invitation to the New Testament Beth Moore’s Stepping up : A Journey Through The Psalms of Ascent
Using Matthew’s Gospel as a starting point, David A. deSilva and Emerson B. Powery show how the New Testament writers and the early Christian community wrestled with the implications of the story of Jesus for their lives and their communities of faith. They invite Christians today to study afresh this story of Jesus to learn more about their calling to discipleship and to community. This Bible study explores Psalms 120 – 134. Traveling pilgrims sang these on the way to the great festivals of the Jews and as key elements of the worship at those festivals. Students will interact with Beth Moore and the Scriptures in new ways. They wull gain a new appreciation for the life of faith as a journey to greater fellowship with and worship of God. "There is no literature in all the world that is more true to life and more honest than Psalms, for here we have warts–and&ndsah;all religion. Every skeptical thought, every disappointing venture, every pain, every despair that we can face is lived through and integrated into a personal, saving relationship with God – a relationship that also has in it acts of praise, blessing, peace, security, trust, and love."
