All are welcome to join us for a workshop with Traci Hurley with CHOA (Children's Hospital of Atlanta) on creating healthy boundaries around social media.
Traci Hurley is a Program Coordinator for the Prevention and Training Team at the Stephanie V. Blank Center for Safe and Healthy Children at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In this role, she develops and implements child maltreatment prevention programs and creates and delivers multidisciplinary training sessions on various child maltreatment topics. She has educated over 8,000 professionals and community members on the topics of Mandated Reporting of Child Abuse & Neglect, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, and Digital Safety, among others. Traci attended The University of Alabama and earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Traci is also a certified facilitator for the Not a #Number, Sexual Exploitation Youth Prevention Curriculum offered by Love146.
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss different types of technology and how they are used by students. Be able to recognize at least four social media apps, name two differences between cyberbullying and traditional bullying, and identify steps adults can take to protect children from online risks.
