how is God calling you?!
Over the course of three weekends in January and February, the Missions Committee is sponsoring opportunities for you and your family to get involved in mission work that affects people right here in Savannah!
Each day there are two different opportunities, so come out on any one (or more) of the weekends and share the love of Christ through hands-on service.
We will serve Second Harvest Food Bank at their facility, working with their Brown Bag program that provides food to the needy elderly. There is a limit of 20 people, so be sure to sign up quickly!
January 26: Second Harvest Food Bank and Sawdust Gang Home Repair Projects
On this day, we will serve Second Harvest Food Bank at their facility, working with their Brown Bag program that provides food to the needy elderly. There is a limit of 20 people, so be sure to sign up quickly!
For the Sawdust Gang projects, no extensive skills are necessary to help those without the means to make minor repairs to their home.
February 2: SonRise Servers & The Potato Drop
SonRise Servers provide and help serve a pot-luck meal to those experiencing homelessness. This takes place at the Inner City Night Shelter on Presidents Street.
We will also have about 1,000 lbs. of potatoes dropped in our parking lot by the Society of St. Andrew that will need to be bagged and dolled out to local mission agencies.
February 9: SonRise Servers & The Love Walk
On our final day of the event, you can serve those experiencing homelessness a pot-luck meal at Inner City Night Shelter or help raise money for Wesley Community Center (a United Methodist outreach ministry to families) by participating in their annual Love Walk fundraiser. Both events are off campus.
