United Women in Faith
United Women in Faith, previously called The United Methodist Women, has several groups called "Circles" (listed below) that meet throughout the year, typically September through May, for fellowship, service, and to enjoy programs on a wide variety of subjects. As women united in the bond of spiritual fellowship, we extend an invitation to all women of the church and the community to join us for one of our monthly meetings.
Lunch Bunch Circle - Lunch Bunch meets once a month at 12:00pm with a devotion or speaker. Ladies of all ages bring a sack lunch and often end the hour with a "hands-on" local mission project. Their Mission Focuses are Coastal Children's Advocacy Center, Christ Child's Nest, Local SonRise Servers.
Legacy Circle - This circle usually meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:00PM in the Bridal Parlor. These are women of all ages who enjoy a spiritual program each month and want to be connected to UMW activities but cannot attend daytime meetings. For their Mission Focus, they vary their support among many UMW initiatives.
Circle of Love - This group presently meets quarterly on Tuesdays at 9 am in the Bridal Parlor. They support Inner City Night Shelter, supplying them with 100 rolls of toilet paper each month and Christmas gifts that fulfill current needs such as hats, gloves, and steel-toed shoes (past items). They enjoy fellowship, a devotional, and prayer.
Good Samaritan Circle -
The Good Samaritan Circle meets at 10 am on the first Friday of the month in September through May in The Green House, Room 101. Members are ladies 60+ years and enjoy light refreshments during a fellowship time. The circle provides mission outreach to Wesley Community Center, The Christ Child’s Nest, and Inner City Night Shelter. The program's focus is “Connection Through Life Stories.” Members’ experience and faith journeys are shared using facilitated activities. All ages are united to join as new members or attend as guests.
Sisters in Christ - Sisters in Christ is a group of women who meet several times a year for fellowship and mission work. We support Hope Arbor by serving in their Manna Crew, bake for Day on the Island, and support other missions. Meeting times vary.
