Growing in Grace is Isle of Hope United Methodist Church's children's music ministry for children ages 3 through Grade 5. This ministry takes place during the Sunday School hour, which is split between Growing in Grace and Children's Sunday School.

Growing in Grace begins on Sunday, August 16.

Built on the faith-based Growing in Grace curriculum, the program was developed by experienced music educators and children's choir leaders to engage and nurture children spiritually while they sing, play, move, and become creative musicians.

Through age-appropriate instruction and hands-on experiences, children develop foundational musical skills such as singing, rhythm, music reading, listening, and ensemble participation. Along the way, they explore the rich musical heritage of the church through hymns, worship songs, handbells, percussion instruments, and other creative musical activities.

Children participate in one of two groups:

  1. Growing in Grace I (Ages 3–Kindergarten) introduces young children to the joy of music through singing, movement, rhythm activities, instruments, and worship experiences designed especially for early learners.

  2. Growing in Grace II (Grades 1–5) builds upon those foundations through music literacy, vocal development, handbells, percussion, worship leadership, and opportunities for creative expression.

Whether a child is discovering music for the first time or already loves to sing and perform, Growing in Grace provides a welcoming environment where children can develop their musical gifts, build friendships, and grow in faith.

Growing in Grace will sing in worship on the following dates:

September 20 - "I Have a Song" (Growing in Grace I & II)

October 25 - "In Your Love Rejoice" (Growing in Grace II)

November 22 - "Thankful, O Yes!" (Growing in Grace I), "Singing Songs with Thankful Hearts" (Growing in Grace II)

December 13 - "Baby Jesus, Born Today" (Growing in Grace I), "Ring the Bells" (Growing in Grace II)
