Church is not simply a place we attend, but a community we help to shape. Through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness, and through how we care for one another, we help build a community where people can belong, grow, and serve.
Please prayerfully consider how you can say, "Count Me In" at IOHUMC as we make plans for 2027. We will have physical cards at church for families to take home, and we also have special Commitment Cards for our children. We encourage families to talk together about how everyone can be the best steward of their gifts and help support the life and ministry of Isle of Hope UMC.
"But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their abundance; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.’” Mark 12: 42-44
We give time and money to the things we most value. Oftentimes those things are temporary and fleeting. God never asks for more than we have, but we are expected to be faithful with what God has given. Giving to your church helps us take our next steps in ministry as we share the good news of Jesus with the world.
What if we all took one step up in our giving? What if we had the faith and obedience of the widow? We freely give and then leave the rest up to God. Will you say, "Count Me In" for 2027?
