Our church provides reading mentors for our neighborhood school IOH K-8 through the organization Local Outreach Volunteer Educators. L. O. V. E. has about 80 volunteers who serve 8 Savannah Chatham County Schools where 60% of the students are below the poverty line. LOVE Mentors are trained to work with 1st and 2nd grade students for 35 to 40 minutes once a week during school hours.
